Start the quest by going to Canafis and reading the signpost in the center of the town. Doctor Fenkenstrain is looking for a new butler, preferably braindead with grave digging skills. Apply for the job at Fenkenstrain's castle North-East of Canafis. Fenkenstrain will ask you describe yourself in one word, reply Braindead. Then he'll ask what you greatest skill is, reply should be Grave-digging.
Now that you've got the job, Fenkenstrain wants you dig up some stuff. Dead stuff. He needs enough body parts to assemble a new body which he'll then bring to life. To make a body, you'll need a head, a pair of arms, a pair of legs, and a torso.
Get out your Amulet of Ghost speak and talk to the "Gardener Ghost" in the back of the manor. He got killed somewhere in the haunted woods, ask him where his head is. The gardener will tell you how to get to his grave site, right click the marker and pick the "dig" option with a spade in your inventory. You'll dig up the Gardener's head, but its missing the brain.
Go to the Hair of the Dog inn in Canafis, talk to the barman and ask if he has anything to eat. For 50 coins he'll sell you a pickled human brain. Buy one and use it on the head, then take the use the head on Fenkenstrain.
Go upstairs and search both bookcases on the second floor, read all the books, some of them have secret compartments that give you the two halves of a six-pointed star amulet. Take it out to the grave yard with the large tombstones east of the manor. The search the farthest east of the grave stones (it should have a six-pointed star depression in it), use the amulet with the tomb stone then push the tomb. It will open up and let you into the cavern.
Head North-West through the cavern until you come to a locked gate. Go back a little ways until you see a dog with a girl's head. Kill the dog-girl for the Cavern Key. Now use it to get through the gat and climb the ladder on the other side.
You'll be on an island with three graves. Dig up all three to get the Torse, arms, and legs. Go back through the southern tombstone and back through the caverns. Give the body parts to Fenkenstrain. He'll now tell you he needs needle and 5 thread (you can get these from the general store in Canafis). He'll then tell you he needs you to repair the lightning conductor.
You need to make a new lightning conductor with a lightning conductor mould out of silver. Go talk to the Gardener Ghost again and ask about where to find a lightning conductor mould and the key to the shack in the back of the manor. The gardener will tell you about a handyman that would sweep the chimneys who had the mould. He'll also give you the key to the shack. Go into the shack and search the cupboard, you'll find a Gardening Broom.
Pick up 3 pieces of cane from the pile outside the shack. Now attach them to the brush (you'll need the three bronze wires in your inventory). Now sweep all the chimneys in the manor, there are four. One of them will have the lightning conductor mould in it, now take the mould and the bar of silver to a furnace to make a lightning conductor.
Take the conductor back to the manor and use it on the broken conductor, a bolt of lightning will immediately strike it. Go downstairs and talk to Doctor Fenkenstrain. It seems he regrets bringing the creature to life and wants you to kill it for him, he'll give you a tower key. Go upstairs and to a gate near the center of the second floor, go up another ladder and talk to the creature.
The creature is actually the orginal master of the castle and was convinced years ago by Fenkenstrain to sell off the other inhabitants of the castle to the vampires. It seems that Fenkenstrain later did in with master as well, since his brain ended up as a snack food in the Canafis bar.
Go downstairs and pickpocket the Ring of Charos from Fenkenstrain to finish the quest.
