Start point: Sinclair's Mansion, North of Seers Tower
Speak to: Any of the Guards on the Property

*Note: It is not necessary to talk to anyone besides the guard, the poison salesman (after you have the murder scene pot), and the person who committed the crime (which you will know who did after you get his fingerprints.) However, within this guide, I have stated that you should talk to other people to get the full effect of the story.*

Before you start this quest, bring a pot. This will later be used to collect flour. Do not bring any armor or other items, for you will need the inventory space. To start this quest, as stated above, you will have to talk to one of the guards on the property. When he asks you if you will help him, you will, of course, agree. He will tell you that you will need to locate clues. Now talk to another guard and ask how Sinclair died. If you go to the east of the road leading to the mansion you will notice a man called David Sinclair. Talk to him and ask him both questions. He will tell you of a someone who was selling poison, and he states that they went to the Seer's Village Tavern. Now, go down to the middle of the road path to the mansion, going to the tavern is not necessary.

On your way out, talk to a 'man.' Ask him a few questions to get some more information. Also, down the road, you will see a red-haired poison salesman. Talk to him and ask him about his poison and who bought it. Head back towards the mansion now and go to the west of the road next to the door of the mansion. Talk to the gardener. After asking him some questions, go to the north, where you will find his hut. Investigate the sacks to find some fly paper. Take seven pieces. Head east again where you found David, and take a north. Talk to the dog handler. Investigate the gate to the north of him. This will tell you that no intruder could have done this murder.

Head inside the mansion. Simply search around the house, investigating and searching everything you find. Talk to all of the people that you see, besides the guard. After this, head downstairs and go into the northwestern room where there is a stove. There will be a barrel. Fill your pots full of flour. Now sprinkle flour on each on of the silver items. You should have a total of seven silver items, the silver dagger, and each silver item from each child (the silver items are all located in barrels in the house). After you have sprinkled each item with flour, you will need to use the fly paper on each one, giving you the fingerprints for each person. Use the unidentified fingerprints on each person's fingerprints to find the murderer. The murderer is completely random, so you will have to try the unidentified fingerprints on each one. Also, go back to the poison salesman now and ask him about the murder scene pot that you have. He will tell you that the pot smells exactly like the poison he sells.

Just to make sure if you have the thread, go to the room where you found the silver dagger and the murder scene pot. In the room, you will find a window. Examine the window. You will get a colored thread. Take this thread to whoever the murderer is (according to the fingerprints) and ask them about the thread. They will tell you that it could be their's. Now, talk to anybody else with the same colored pants as the color of the thread. Ask them about the thread as well, and they will also tell you that it could be their's. Now, finally, investigate the object in which the murderer (according to the fingerprints) said that he used poison on. It should say that poison was not used on this object. Then talk to the guard and you'll have finished the quest!
