Start point: Observatory reception, south west of the Khazard Battle Field
Speak to: Observatory professor
Upon asking to look through the professor's telescope, he tells you that you may not, since it is broken. He will then ask if you would like to help him get the parts needed to repair the telescope, and, of course, you should say yes. He will say you need planks to construct the tripod of the telescope. Before you leave to get planks you should stop at the northern most goblin house. Inside you will find a sand bucket spawning point. You will begin by needing to gather planks. You will need three of them. Planks can be found north of the barbarian camp that is east of Ardougne or in the wilderness. Return the planks to him and he will tell you to get a bronze bar. I am sure you know how to make a bronze bar. You need one copper ore and one tin ore, then use either on a furnace to produce the bronze bar. The closest furnace to the observatory is in Ardougne, by the church. Give this to him and he will tell you to get some glass. This is done by mixing sand with soda ash in a furnace. As I said before, sand can be found in the northern most goblin house. To get soda ash you should go to Catherby, the fishing village south of Camelot. Get a big net at the fishing store to the east, then fish at the spots that allow you to use a big net. Eventually you will get seaweed. This has only a fishing level requirement of one, so you should be able to get it no matter what. Make a fire and burn the seaweed on it to make soda ash. Then mix the two in a furnace. Return the glass to the professor. He will tell you that he lost his lens mould. You will now have to find this.
Go down the ladder to the east. You will see three routes, a north, an east, and a south one. The east route contains one chest, which is a poison cure potion with one dose. You may want to get two of these. Do not take the south path! This contains two chests with poisonous spiders (level 22). Take the north path now, which leads to two paths. Both lead to practically the same place, but the one that continues straight will lead you to two more paths, one having a treasure chest. Do not open this chest, for it too has a poison spider! Now go south from that chest. You will see two new roads. One leads to a gate with a goblin guard (level 48) and the other leads onward, deeper into the cavern. Do not take the route with the gate for now, take the other one. Going down this path you will find a north and an east path. Don't bother taking the north path, since it only leads to a chest that contains nothing. Take the east section and you once more come to another fork. Don't take the west path, because the first chest has nothing and the second has a poisonous spider. Now, take the south path. Go straight done this path. Do not take an east on the first path you see, for it leads you to a treasure chest with a poisonous spider. Going south you see three new paths. However, the two that lead to the east will simply take you around in a circle, so go with the northwest path. Surprise, surprise! You're at another fork! Take the south path and you will find a key. If you take the north path you will come to yet another fork. The one to the west leads you to a ladder with the telescope and the northern one leads to a chest with a poison spider. Though for now, forget the ladder, since it is not operational at the moment anyway. Walk back to where you saw the gate and the goblin guard. Hopefully you can kill a level 48 monster, because you will need to either talk to or attack the goblin, which either way, leads to you fighting him. After killing him use the key that you found on the gate. This unlocks it and breaks the key. Go through the gate and search the western sack, where you will get the lens mould. If you're not quick with this then the guard will respawn, guarding the gate, and you will have to fight him over (though you can run away).
Return to the professor. He will now say that his crafting skill is not high enough to finish the mould, so he will allow you to do it. You will need level ten crafting for this, and it's pretty simple. Just use the lens mould on the glass. Give the lens to the professor. He will take both the lens as well as the mould. Now go back to the end of the dungeon and go up the ladder. Talk to the professor, who will tell you to use the telescope. By looking through the telescope you end the quest.
Also, you may now visit a new area. You will have to talk to the professor and then look through the telescope again. Pick one option, view it again, then pick the other. Now go down to the grave to the north. Here you will find a house-shaped object on the map. Go here. You will see graves and ghosts. Go to the grave with a pagen by it and examine the grave. A ghost will appear called, Spirt of Scorpious. If you talk to him he will give you an Unholy Symbol mould. With these in your inventory, use a silver bar on a furnace. You will now have an Unholy Symbol of Zamorak. Now you will need to string it with a ball of wool. Wool can be bought at the store east of the furnace. Return this necklace to the ghost. This necklace, when worn, will give one power, attack, and defense. It will also increase your prayer by six.
